Omani Copilot in Flydubai Attack Suspected of Extremist Influence, Says Netanyahu

by admin477351

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has raised concerns that a co-pilot from Oman, accused of attacking a pilot on a flydubai flight, may have been influenced by extremist beliefs. This follows an incident where the co-pilot allegedly attempted to take control of the aircraft, prompting passengers to intervene and restrain him.

According to Netanyahu, witnesses reported that after being subdued, the co-pilot repeatedly shouted for someone to kill him. An Israeli official further noted that the suspect’s social media activity included statements advocating violence against Jews. While the investigation is ongoing, there is speculation about possible connections to Iran, although no definitive links have been established.

The flydubai flight was forced to divert to Saudi Arabia following the attack. Both the captain and the co-pilot were subsequently transferred to the United Arab Emirates for medical evaluation. Emirati authorities have launched an investigation into the co-pilot’s actions, examining potential terrorist motives or intents behind the incident.

Regional authorities are collaborating to determine the motive and context of the attack. As investigations continue, officials are working to uncover any further evidence that might clarify the suspect’s motivations or any affiliations with extremist groups.
