Anthropic Raises Record $30 Billion as Valuation Hits $380 Billion

Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI chatbot, has raised $30 billion in new funding, more than doubling its valuation from $183 billion to $380 billion. The substantial capital raise highlights the intense competition and massive investment in the AI sector.
The funding round was led by Singapore’s GIC and Coatue Management, representing one of the largest private capital raises on record. GIC’s chief investment officer for private equity described Anthropic as the clear category leader in enterprise AI.
Financial results demonstrate exceptional growth, with the company reporting $14 billion in annualized revenue. Anthropic has achieved tenfold revenue growth year-over-year for three straight years, outpacing most technology companies globally.
Claude Code, the company’s AI coding assistant that launched for general use in May 2025, has been instrumental in driving recent revenue gains. The product addresses significant market needs for AI-powered software development tools.
Despite high costs associated with computing infrastructure and research talent, Anthropic forecasts improving margins. The company expects to reduce cash burn to approximately one-third of revenue in 2026, declining to 9% by 2027, with profitability targeted for 2028.
